Explore Bali with UberTRIP

UberTRIP Bali Gathering

Uber is developing from a single trip service to a complete trip. The company launched this new service, called UberTRIP, on November 16th, 2016 in Bali.

As an Uber consumer, I was glad to receive their invitation to attend the Uber Gathering with others Bloggers and Instagrammers on November 17th, 2016 at Zia Hotel Petitenget. I and Matt have been using Uber service since last year and it has been a really helpful application. Most of the time, I use it for going to the airport or a meeting place when the weather is unfriendly. But it never crossed my mind to explore Bali with Uber. I really could not put a number on the price that this service would cost. But Uber answer this with UberTRIP.

What is UberTRIP?

UberTRIP is an expanding service from Uber. The purpose is to give you the opportunity to get a personal driver who would be able to accompany you for a long(er) trip, and not only bringing you from a point A to a point B. The trip is limited in time from 5 to 10 hours, but you can theoretically go as far as you want and make as many stops as you decide.

What is the difference between UberX and UberTRIP?

UberX only takes you to a single destination (from a point A to a point B) while UberTRIP can bring you to as many destinations as you like. The pricing system between the two services is also slightly different. Take a look at the two pictures below (available on Uber website), to understand the differences between the two fare calculation systems.

BIWA Bazaar 2016

BIWA Bazaar

our stand at BIWA Bazaar

Biaya pendaftarannya sendiri IDR 350.000 (sepertinya tiap tahun harganya berbeda). Tema tahun ini yang diusung adalah Say No To Plastic, Bring Your Own Shopping Bag. Jadi diharapkan para vendor ga memberikan tas plastik.

Waterfall Trip in North of Bali

Waterfall Trip in Bali

Waterfall Trip in Bali

There are many waterfalls in Bali, most of them are in Singaraja regency. It is a 3 hours trip from Ngurah Rai airport. Since we live in Denpasar, we went there by motorbike.

We did a two days trip (Saturday and Sunday) as it was more convenient to spend the night over there. On Saturday, we spent half of the day driving north, stopped mid-way for lunch and looked for an accommodation to spend the night. We ended up exploring our first waterfall late in the afternoon, around 16:00 PM.
The first waterfall we visited was located in Sambangan Village. They call it Sambangan Secret Garden but it is better known as Aling-Aling Waterfall, especially by local people. There are many waterfalls in this area but we decided to explore this particular one after hearing good reviews about it. If you look at Google, Instagram or Google Map, there will be many things you can explore with these keywords (Aling-Aling, Sambangan, Waterfall).

Affordable place to eat in Seminyak

outside copy

Haloha readers!
As a mixed-couple, we often face a problem when we eat outside. I am not saying that we are not adventurous eaters, but sometimes there is a day that I like to eat eastern food and Matt prefers western cuisine. So we are happy enough to find out about Warung Kecil in Sanur, just next to Hyatt Hotel. 30 minutes driving from our house but close enough to Matt’s office. We often come here for the weekend, also a lunch break before continuing our journey to explore the Eastern shore. They offer Indonesian cuisine like our mother cook and also some western food like Panini and Fresh Salad.

Karangasem Trip

Sidemen, Selat and Tianyar may sounds unfamiliar to you. Perhaps you heard about Candidasa, Amed and Tulamben, right? Yes, those areas I mentioned earlier are located in the same region of Bali called Karangasem. Karangasem has so many hidden gems that need to get exposed. We were lucky enough to explore them from 24 to 27 September 2015.

Duta So7 performs on Soundrenaline 2015 Bali

Before September ends, we would like to share our concert experience this month. We went to a music festival in Uluwatu called Soundrenaline. The event was held on September 5th and 6th. A daily pass for one day is IDR 75,000 and two days is IDR 100,000. We were lucky enough to receive free tickets from Hera’s friend who work for a company that creates this event. We joined for the second day because I wanted to watch WOLFMOTHER, less famous than I thought Australian rock band.

Finding Geger Beach

Geger Beach Nusa Dua

I heard about Geger Beach four years ago, when I arrived in April 2011 to explore the possibility to live in Bali. At that time I stayed at Nusa Dua Beach hotel where it is located on beach front of Nusa Dua, means every day I can just go to the private beach of the hotel. That’s exquisite beach, so I do not bother to explore other beaches.

++++++++++++++++++++
