As a mixed-couple, we often face a problem when we eat outside. I am not saying that we are not adventurous eaters, but sometimes there is a day that I like to eat eastern food and Matt prefers western cuisine. So we are happy enough to find out about Warung Kecil in Sanur, just next to Hyatt Hotel. 30 minutes driving from our house but close enough to Matt’s office. We often come here for the weekend, also a lunch break before continuing our journey to explore the Eastern shore. They offer Indonesian cuisine like our mother cook and also some western food like Panini and Fresh Salad.
We like to discover a new place so once a month we try to go somewhere we have never been. For this month, we decided to visit our friend, Flora, who just relocated to Senggigi, Lombok since this summer. This time, two other friends joined our trip, Nancy and Eni, for a weekend getaway.
Sidemen, Selat and Tianyar may sounds unfamiliar to you. Perhaps you heard about Candidasa, Amed and Tulamben, right? Yes, those areas I mentioned earlier are located in the same region of Bali called Karangasem. Karangasem has so many hidden gems that need to get exposed. We were lucky enough to explore them from 24 to 27 September 2015.
Before September ends, we would like to share our concert experience this month. We went to a music festival in Uluwatu called Soundrenaline. The event was held on September 5th and 6th. A daily pass for one day is IDR 75,000 and two days is IDR 100,000. We were lucky enough to receive free tickets from Hera’s friend who work for a company that creates this event. We joined for the second day because I wanted to watch WOLFMOTHER, less famous than I thought Australian rock band.
I heard about Geger Beach four years ago, when I arrived in April 2011 to explore the possibility to live in Bali. At that time I stayed at Nusa Dua Beach hotel where it is located on beach front of Nusa Dua, means every day I can just go to the private beach of the hotel. That’s exquisite beach, so I do not bother to explore other beaches.
I asked Matt to take me to Ubud a couple of weekends ago. The aim is to visit stores of beauty product that not available in the south of Bali, where we live.
Tana Toraja (Tator) is a unique travel destination, located in the South of Sulawesi, Indonesia. It is about 8 hours driving from Makassar airport. This mountainous region saw its touristic attendance increased in the early 2000s after the Bali bombing. Until today, Tator remains an alternative holiday destination, original, less crowded with magnificent landscapes. We had the chance to visit from July 19th to 21st, 2015.
